Colm’s Washcloth

So, Colm wanted me to knit him something blue and green. A teddy bear to be exact. As I hadn’t the yarn nor the time during my visit for that, we compromised and settled on a blue and green washcloth (on Ravelry).

Who could say “no” to this face?

Here’s the “pattern”.

I used 1/2 of a 2oz. ball of Peaches & Creme Sea Mist worsted weight cotton knit at 8sts = 2” in Garter Stitch on US 7s.

CO 1
row 1: Kbfb (knit into back, front, back) – (3sts)
row 2: sl1kwise, kfb, kfb, (5sts)
From here you will increase 2sts every other row.
row 3: sl1kwise, k1, yo, k to last 2sts, yo, k2
row 4: k

rep rows 3 and 4 to desired length/width, then begin decreasing 2sts every other row.

row 1: sl1kwise, ssk, yo, ssk, k to last 5sts, k2tog, yo, k2tog, k1
row 2: k

rep rows 1 and 2 until 9sts rem.
row 1: sl1kwise, ssk, yo, sl1, k2tog, psso, yo, k2tog, k1 (7sts)
row 2: k
row 3: sl1kwise, ssk, yo, sl1, k2tog, psso, k1 (5sts)
row 4: sl1kwise, sl1, k2tog, psso, k1 (3sts)
row 5: sl1, k2tog, psso (1st)
BO and weave in tails.
